About

Welcome! If you’ve made it this far that means you care enough to know a little bit about me. :)

Where do I begin? I was born and raised in a small country in South America called Suriname. My first language is Dutch. My family and I came to the United States when I was 7 years old and my life hasn’t been the same ever since. My father was an electrician at the time and my mom was a nurse. Growing up, photography was not something I planned on doing as a career in my life. I knew I had a gift and a talent but at the time I always found myself helping people with their problems and giving them advice; so i decided that I would pursue a degree in psychology. As we all know, life happens and our desires change. I then had the thought of being a fire fighter, but that thought died faster than you can blink. I was at a point where I just went with the flow and I didn’t know what to do with my life. Moving forward, in 2015, I began to serve heavily at my church and that is where the birth of my passion for photography was evoked. I remember always taking photos on my little iPhone 6. I don’t know where it came from, but I always enjoyed capturing wonderful moments of people’s smiles or whatever they were doing in the moment. I decided to join the photography team in 2017. Being able to freeze moments with the camera I had at the time didn’t just give me peace but it gave me purpose. Not everyone knows this about me, but I used to write short stories on Facebook. Now I get to tell and create stories of people’s love lives through the eye of my lens. After doing photography for about 5 years, I found an old photo of my father holding a camera. I totally forgot that he was a wedding photographer as well! What I do with photography is not just a passion for me, its my legacy. Its a story I want to leave behind for my children and my children’s children. Capturing and creating moments that tell stories and evoke emotions is my passion. From weddings to portraits, I'm dedicated to turning memories into art. Let's create something beautiful together!
